Valentine's Day Card 2010
Feb. 13th, 2010 05:04 pm---Recipe---
CardStock: Pure Poppy (PTI; base); Sweet Blush (PTI; hearts base)
Ink: Pure Poppy (PTI)
Stamp Set(s): Heart Prints (PTI)
Extras: Pure Poppy Swiss Dots Ribbon (PTI); Simple Valentine Patterned Paper (PTI; mat); Large Heart Punch (EK Success); Small Clear Rhinestones; Scor-tape (1/4-inch); Pop Dots(your choice of brand)
I was bored when making this card.
First, I cut my base out in Pure Poppy cardstock. Then I picked out a pattern for my mat and cut that out. I didn't do such a good job making sure the mat was in proportion to the base. I still need a ton of practice at using this paper trimmer. Next, I stamped out three different heart shapes on Sweet Blush CS and punched them out with the Large Heart Punch. Need more practice lining those up, as well. My hands tend to shake a lot when cutting things out.
Once the hearts were punched, I adhered the ribbon on them using a little scor-tape. I decided not to put ribbon on the center heart, instead I decked it out in clear rhinestones, picking the smallest size available in the package. Then I used pop dots to give it a little "pop" on the background.
Inside the card I used a small piece of Sweet Blush CS for a sentiment. Nothing really flashy and it is a bit off-center.
